With the help of computer simulation, students are instructed to conduct home energy checkups of their home. The students are shown where to look for the energy waste in their home.
Once the data is collected it can be imported into a computer program that generates a report providing specific recommendations and information about energy saving measures.
This activity gives the participants a hands-on experience that can not only be an educational tool for the future, but can provide energy saving in the present.
Because of its technical nature, this activity is recommended for 7th grade students and above.
